The Quartet invented a brand new music style and made Negro Spirituals popular in the 40’s and 50’s. Louis Armstrong reveals these same Negro Spirituals to the whole world in 1958 with “The Good Book”. In May 2003, I asked the Golden Gate Quartet to record this repertoire under the artistic guidance of Clyde Wright, second tenor since 1954.
