Clyde
Wright, Terry François, Paul Bremly, Franck Davis (Livret
: Jean Buzelin).
“Founded in 1934, the Golden Gate Quartet has been one
of the landmarks of African-American music history by inventing
a brand new music style. The Quartet decided to record this
album in Raleigh, N.C., a city belonging to the South, where
they grew up. Under the artistic guidance of Clyde Wright, second
tenor since 1954 and Paul Brembly, baritone since 1971, the
Quartet comes back with a spectacular new sound, incorporating
rap which is a modern form of their narrative style, enriched
by colorful sounds inspired by today’s R&B. The Golden
Gate Quartet proves their sense of innovation while keeping
their original spirit and shows that the most well known vocal
ensemble is more alive than ever.”
